Jessica Kuennen Santos

As a Special Education Teacher for the last decade, Jessica’s passion for equitable education for all, continues to drive her mission. After graduating from a small private college in Southern Minnesota, she landed her first job at an African American Charter School in North Minneapolis. There she experienced the power of what happens to an Educator when students become family, and school becomes home. She spent 7 years there with a team whom together authored and implemented an inclusive curriculum to service all of their untraditional learners.

This community was extremely fragile; impacted by poverty, trauma, and minimal resources. Despite these challenges Jessica successfully managed large caseloads with high-needs students in a way that supported her students socially, emotionally, and academically.

After graduating with her Masters Degree in Special Education, Jessica was re-located to Orlando, Florida where she accepted a position as ESE School Specialist (Special Education Coordinator) with the Lake County School District.

Becoming a mother has pushed her to reevaluate and expand the way she supports untraditional learners. Her mission is to educate, empower, and guide families as they navigate the education system while considering their belief systems and goals for their child.
